Char has been making art in various forms all her life, beginning early in her childhood when she started actively refining her skills with a pencil and a desire to escape from the “real world”.

The pencil is still her favorite medium today closely followed by all types of painting, but she never discriminates and is happy to use any element on any surface in order to continue creating.

Char’s preferred concepts include illustrative realism and storytelling pieces, and she enjoys using animals and nature to create art that is relatable to her viewers, as well as creating familiar environments that the viewer can “escape” into, just as she escapes into the creative process.

Her primary drive is to create work that makes people feel happy, safe and comforted in whatever way they need.
